Welcome to the Woodcraft Guild Tasmania Inc, website!

The Guild is based in Hobart and has around 80 members with skill levels varying from skilled hobbyist to those who derive their living working with Tasmania's special timbers.

Guild activities include workshop session's, guest speakers and demonstrators, site visits and exhibitions. The Guide has a library of books, magazines and videos, and a regular newsletter. We welcome the participation of members and partners in our activities. There are a number of retired people amongst our membership, some of whom have worked with wood for all of their working lives and are keen to share their skills. We welcome new members, especially young men and women woodworkers in to our ranks.

We are proposing to set up a number of special interest groups.

In April 2007 we moved into our own home at Cosgrove High School in Glenorchy, this will result in more activities as we will have 24x7 access to the site.

Meeting Schedule

The Guild meets on the second Tuesday of each month (except January) at 7:00pm at our new home at Cosgrove High School in the woodworking area. Our 8th May meeting will consist of a session on machinery maintenance and will also include a presentation of the use of the new tools available for loan by the members. These include Morse Taper Reamer, Dial Indicator and BSF tap. Potential new members are welcome to attend any of our meetings.
